Saunier Duval catalog, 1938
Signal 33.51 is a single or double sided single color light designed to reinforce no-entry signs. It was used in Paris from the 1930s, and several examples are still installed on public roads.
It is found in a single-coloured red version at the entrance to tunnels and underground passages, as well as in a yellow version for indicating a particular danger or reinforcing vertical signage.
It could be single-sided, or have a rear repeat of smaller diameter. It could be fixed at the top of the mast, or on a bracket fixed to a public lighting candelabra.
