The advertiser and urban furniture designer JCDecaux has also designed traffic lights. A boxed model appeared in the mid-1970s, when the advertiser was installing bus shelters and directional signs in all major cities in France.
In 2005, when the Avenue des Champs-Elysées was renovated, the designer J-M Wilmotte designed the street furniture and the traffic lights of the famous avenue, the construction of which was entrusted to JCDecaux.
Several other models of signals have been designed as part of street furniture series, without being installed.
