The Société Européenne des Sémaphores Routiers (ESR), located in Champagne sur Oise (95), was founded in 1986.
ESR has marketed four display traffic lights ranges, including the Vertline range, the Base range whose houses are manufactured by the Italian company SCAE, the 2000 range (taken over by Garbarini-Fareco), a range of LED repeaters/pedestrian signals, as well as an intersection controller that can be synchronized by GPS module.
The ranges of traffic lights and regulation equipment designed by ESR have also been marketed abroad (Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Ivory Coast, Morocco, etc.).
ESR was placed in compulsory liquidation in 2005 and taken over by Garbarini Fareco, which renamed it Road Signaling Equipment. Only the Range 2000 traffic lights have been retained by Garbarini Fareco.
