The Compagnie des Freins et Signals Westinghouse (CFSW) was founded in 1886. Its activity focused mainly on the design of braking systems for trucks and trains.
In the 1960s, the CFSW also developed a traffic control activity. The company has developed an intersection controller and a coordinator to create a green wave.
Traffic lights has also been designed and marketed by Westinghouse. In France, these products were distributed by IBR. In Belgium, these products were marketed by Westinghouse Brussels.
This activity was quickly abandoned by the company, which explains the scarcity of Westinghouse equipment.
