On the regulation side, the city of Nancy equipped itself at the end of the 1970s with a centralized traffic regulation system including remote monitoring of around a hundred intersections, supplied by the German firm Siemens. This is the first German regulatory system implemented in France. This is explained, as for traffic lights, by the proximity of the city of Nancy to Germany.
This first system was grouped together in a PC Circulation in 1982 which then included 140 crossroads. It will be expanded and modernized again in 1995, 2001 and 2013.
The city of Nancy has been equipped with traffic signals since the 1960s.
First equipment from the manufacturer EVR, then quickly German-made traffic lights from the manufacturer Siemens, which will equip the entire city until the 2010s.
The historic town center was fitted with Théry Hindrick Ville Nouvelle traffic lights in the 1980s.
