The first traffic light of St Nazaire was put into service on March 10th, 1953.
From 1960, the masts of Garbarini traffic lights installed in St Nazaire were equipped with red strips on all their height to strengthen their visibility. The central visor of the yellow light is also painted in red.

The last traffic light with red strips, a Standard M68, was deposited in 2008. It equipped the bascule bridge of the port of St Nazaire.
