The Electric and Hydraulic company was founded in 1898 in Jeumont (59).
In 1906, the company was renamed North and East Electrical Construction Workshops (ACEC).
In 1921, the ACECs merged with the Longueville forges and became the Jeumont forges and electrical construction workshops (FACEJ).
Then in 1964, FACEJ merged with Schneider Westinghouse to become Jeumont Schneider.
Jeumont's traffic lights activity was apparently marginal compared to its other sectors of activity. A model of a traffic light and a pedestrian signal were designed in the 1950s.
