From the 1980s, the manufacturer Garbarini and its Design 2000 traffic lights were chosen. They will equip the entire city, and are still the majority today. The Galilée and then Gallery controllers from the same manufacturer were also widely installed in Charleville.
In the early 2000s, Charleville-Mézières changed supplier again, with the choice of Horizon traffic lights from the Lyon manufacturer SEA, mainly located in the city center which then had 64 crossroads in 2005. This change is explained by the desire to switch all of the town's LED traffic lights.
The city of Charleville, now Charleville-Mézières, was first equipped with Silec Standard traffic lights in the 1960s, before making extensive use of the Lille manufacturer Théry Hindrick during the 1970s. The right-angled design of the city, built on plan in 1606, requires the presence of many intersections with traffic lights.
After the Théry Hindrick period, Silec won a new call for tenders with its Europe traffic lights, which were widely installed in Charleville, especially in the fluorescent tube version. Copies will remain until the mid-2000s.
