historic of Cagnes-sur-Mer
The city of Cagnes-sur-Mer was equipped with lights from the manufacturer EVR in its historic center during the 1960s, before widely extending its other intersections with lights from the manufacturer Thery Hindrick, Ville Nouvelle and Lux 2000 models. immediately after, a central control station was put into service.
1965: EVR builds traffic control facilities in the Magnan district, where vehicle throughput is then greater than that of the western motorway.
1971: on March 1, the Nice central regulation station is commissioned.
2011: Nice Métropole Cote d'Azur has 681 crossroads, including 563 in Nice (60 with absolute tram priority), 62 in Cagnes sur Mer, 17 in St Laurent du Var and 38 other crossroads spread over other municipalities.
2015: the maintenance of the 700 intersections of Nice Métropole Cote d'Azur is entrusted to Citélum (EDF group).
The city of Nice has historically called on the manufacturer EVR, which has equipped the city with traffic lights since the 1950s. Nice will remain faithful to this manufacturer, which will continue to equip the city in the 1970s.
At the end of the 1970s, the advertiser JCDecaux arrived in Nice and equipped part of the city with its traffic lights.
Nice will remain loyal to EVR, then to Lacroix Traffic given the proximity of the production site of this manufacturer located in Carros. With the exception of the tramway, which will be equipped by SEA Signalisation (Agathe signals) in 2007.
Today, Nice Métropole Côte d'Azur has two traffic control centers (CRT) : one in Nice (421 intersections), and one in Cagnes sur Mer (44 intersections). A project to merge these two CRTs is under study.
